When I first started on the Internet in 1989, most content was paid. It was all experts, business folks, and educational rather than clowns. Here's how to increases productivity by understanding the new dead internet.
There Was A Time Where The Internet Was High Signal, No Noise
You would pay for quality. Then there was free. You'd get free content at a lower value. Now you are the content; platforms monetize your attention.
Everyone has been encouraged to get online. Every idiot can post now. Some of the most ridiculous content gets promoted by the platforms.
In the time I worked with Justin I was fortunate enough to oversee a few large projects that he was a part of. His attention to detail and creative thought process always made the difficult seem simple. A subject matter expert on many topics his depth and breadth of knowledge was an asset.-- David Williams, Dominion Enterprises, Norfolk, VA
User-generated content makes big tech firms billions. The more sensational, the better. Educational content doesn't pay, so they suppress it.
It used to be anything goes. Publishing on a message board with reasonably well-written content would never be filtered. Subject matter experts ruled. Now, anyone can publish.
They Are Farming Your Attention Like Power Pods In The Matrix
I'm so frequently distracted by the internet that I block access to many sites. Big tech is excellent at monetizing that attention.
It's getting harder to reach serious, upwardly mobile individuals. That includes decision-makers. They are online, but they aren't where the traffic exists.
Billions of individuals are on social media, video-sharing, and search engine platforms. However, they are distracted and driven to use platforms that filter for mainstream content.
Faceless machines are curating what people can see. They don't know the content the individual needs, only what is being fed to them as programming.
It Started With Farming User Generated Content, Now Artificial Intelligence
I'm writing off the top of my head here. My actual brain, not some machine. Does that make it better or worse? You decide.
The key is that everything is diluted online for entertainment rather than advancement.
The feeding of your lizard brain puts you at risk for distraction rather than high-value growth. Content for emotional response rather than contemplation.
That's why I put together communities. These on-demand communities manifest as paid newsletters, courses, and membership sites. None of these things is forever.
So, this is why I'm constantly evolving. You ought to do the same. You're likely behind if you're doing what you've always done.
This doesn't mean you change for the sake of changing. Instead, cultivate your insights, develop an audience, and serve those individuals.
Reclaim Your Productivity Dispite The Dead and Diluted Internet
The Internet is now mainstream media. It's about keeping you in a box. Drawing attention to what they wish you to believe rather than what is best for you. The internet used to have utility.
- Focus on identified outcomes.
- Learn how to think for yourself.

I want to thank you very much for your partnership and support when I first came to the team in helping he assimilate and understand the product and tools. It was a pleasure getting to work with you.-- Glenn Berry, Wells Fargo.
